Have you ever just felt like you were doing everything you
were supposed to in order to lose weight and STILL weren’t dropping
the pounds?
During her journey to lose 40lbs in 16 weeks, my good friend Kim
faced some pretty serious challenges with regards to her level
of motivation.
Another friend of mine, Antonio Goodwin, who lost 4 inches from
his waistline in 9 weeks with my program, faced the same frustration.
The problem was that at several times during their weight loss,
they both felt as if they were not losing much weight and were not
seeing results.
Now, a look at either of their before and after photos on
my web sites shows that each of them made quite a substantial improvement
in their bodies.
So what would make someone who’s losing weight each week feel as if they
were not?
I’ll tell you exactly what. Its referred to as the emotional roller
coaster.
This is how it usually goes:
You start a new diet or weight loss program. You’re all excited to be
doing something great for your health and the way you look, and you’re sticking
to the program, step by step.
Consistent action pays off and after a short while you start getting
compliments about the pounds you’re losing week by week.
Then all of a sudden, it all seems to stop. You can no longer see the
physical changes in your body, and maybe you even have a moment of weakness
and cheat a bit on your diet plan. So now you’re frustrated and mildly
depressed. You feel as if true weight loss may NEVER happen for you, no matter
what you do.
TIME OUT.
The trick here is to not get stuck in your own frustration.
Now this is a tough one, because everyone and I do mean EVERYONE goes through
this stage. Whenever I need to trim down for a photo shoot, I go through it
as well.
One of the things that you must understand about the body is that for
as long as you are doing the right things on a consistent basis it WILL
respond with results.
The Jedi Mind Trick is that oftentimes the progress is subtle, or may
be primarily taking place in an area that you cannot see as well.
For instance, my friend Kim loses weight in her back the fastest.
Her frustration came because she did not see the fat loss on her stomach
the way she would have liked to. Little did she know that from behind
she looked like a completely different person.
Listen, the emotional roller coaster is an inevitable aspect of any
worthy undertaking that we take on in life. Remember getting through
college? Or maybe waiting for puberty to set in? How about paying
off your debts? The mental battle while attempting to diet and/or
achieve weight loss is no different.
So make a conscious decision to stick to your guns. Let it play out.
Victory lies in having the strength to make it through the rough spots
without cracking under the pressure and losing all that you’ve worked for.
If you can just master getting past the point of frustration, before you
know it you’ll be seeing results again and getting more compliments.

Tips For Successful Weight Loss
Throughout my childhood and teenage years I watched as my mother tried every fad diet under the sun. I recall one time she ate boiled cabbage and nothing else for a whole week. I felt my mothers? frustration and misery, however I could not understand why it was so difficult for her to lose weight and keep it off ? until that is I became a weight management coach.
For the past two years I have been assisting people to achieve their ideal weight and in this time I have experienced what contributes to a successful weight loss story.
Getting serious - It all starts with you and how serious you are about losing weight. The key to successful weight loss is partly dependent on your level of commitment. How would you rate your seriousness on a scale of 1 ? 10 (10 being deadly serious)?
No quick fix - If you have made the commitment to get serious about losing weight then you need to make the commitment to do it safely and effectively. One piece of invaluable advice my own family doctor passed onto me is that slow and steady is always the best option. The longer it takes you to lose weight the less likely you are to put it back on.
Staying motivated - Always keep the end in mind! Write down all of the reasons why you are motivated to lose weight now. Record these reasons on a piece of card that can be kept in your wallet or purse. Each morning and before going to bed remind yourself by reading aloud why you are motivated to lose weight.
Facing challenges - Every day you are likely to face challenges, which can disrupt your focus and get in the way of your weight loss goals. Write down all of the challenges that you know have made losing weight hard for you in the past. This will help you to develop a better strategy this time. Three common challenges are lack of results, boredom and lack of support from spouse, family and friends.
Choosing a weight control program - I recommend choosing a diet / weight control program that offers all of the following for best results:
* Provides a balanced nutritious program that is safe and effective
* Support system and regular progress follow-up
* Teaches you better eating habits
* Teaches you how to maintain your weight once you have reached your goal weight
For two years Annette Croft has been assisting people reach their ideal weight with the aid of a nutritious, simple and convenient weight management program. Staying Fit with Yoga Exercises
Yoga exercises are the best way to free your mind and to concentrate deeply. After
you have experienced a stressful situation, your mind, body and spirit is worn out
and fatigued.
The cause of these might have been from the interaction with other people or
something that have caused a frustration, anger, depression and disappointment in
you. These feelings created out of these circumstances should be released so that
you will live a happier life.
One effective way and method to express your outpoured feelings and emotion is by
doing yoga exercises.
When you feel like shouting out loud or cracking the television, you can instead
release your tension through yoga exercises that are effective and helpful.
This type of strategy has worked in many ways for different people. Those who
don?t find enough time for themselves can do yoga exercises in order to relieve
themselves.
Sometimes, work has caught up on us so tightly that we don?t find time to relax and
express ourselves. Yoga exercises are one of the best remedy to this problem.
Yoga exercises can be applied and learned in school. There are some sessions that
offer yoga practices. The yoga exercises you will learn in school can be performed at
home.
In fact, you can learn some yoga exercises at home all by yourself. You will just have
to need a television and a video tape. The tape shows the steps and procedures for
each yoga exercise.
During a tired and heavy day, you can set a little time and devotion in doing yoga
exercises. Also remember that in doing yoga, you?ll need to be consistent in
practicing the yoga exercises so that it will soon take effect and you will notice little
by little improvements on your body.
After doing the yoga exercises, you?ll need to relax in order for the effect of the
postures take place. In this manner, the body will accumulate the effects.
Before doing the yoga exercises, you should first lay in a relaxed posture so you can
focus well and not be distracted by outside forces. You will not feel pain or
discomfort too.
Yoga exercises can be done at any time of the day as long as you are free. Although
it chooses no time, still, the best time to practice it is in the morning. Before eating
your breakfast, the mind is on its state of calmness and free from distractions. This
is the perfect time to do the yoga exercises.
Before doing the yoga exercises, make sure that your heart is ready. It should not
feel any pain or ego. It is important to keep a good heart so that your mind can
work well.
The perfect place to do your yoga exercises is a quiet place. It should be well
ventilated and free from all unpleasant things and smell. You should be free from all
possible distractions.
Keeping a good stomach is also important so that you will feel good and your digestive system responses accurately. What you should do first is to empty your
bowels and clear your noses from mucus. You should stay clean and fit.
Now that you have clearly understood the important reminders, you can start your
yoga exercises and work your way out.

Discover How Yoga Will Help You Reach Your Goals - Part 1
Time is valuable and there are a number of successful methods for goal realization. Yoga will cross train your mind and body for maximum potential. Imagine being able to optimize your attitude in one hour, per day, or less. Every day, people attend Yoga classes for physical or mental health, and walk away with the tools, to be masters of their own destiny.
How is this possible? Regular attendance to Yoga classes, will result in a positive attitude adjustment for the student. Many of us walk around with a ?perceived handicap.? We blame everything for our set backs and lack of opportunities. Society, your boss, and your family, are all easy targets to blame, for lack of opportunities.
It is true that age, financial status, gender, and ethnic background, are factors in success. However, these factors can all be overcome by working toward your goal on a daily basis, and taking life one-step-at- a-time. Remember, that if you think you situation is a disability, it will be.
How can Yoga do anything for you? For one thing, you will appreciate life to it?s fullest. You will stop wasting time, by letting daily opportunities go by. Many of us have opportunities, but we think it won?t work, we don?t have what it takes for success, or we lack the drive to carry a plan through.
Yoga and meditation teach you to supervise your mind. Your mind has been allowed to work against you. Much like a ?back seat driver,? the mind is good at ?second guessing,? fearing, doubting, and discouraging new ideas. The mind would prefer to stay in one place, and let the world go by. Leaving you in a deeper state of frustration, by worrying about making a mistake.
You have to cultivate a positive relationship with your mind, through practicing Yoga postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation. You can find all this, and much more, in your local Yoga class. All you have to do is make it a regular routine. Yoga classes are everywhere, from corporate health clubs to senior centers. Whether you practice before, or after, work is not important, and you will start to feel the mental benefits, right away.
Many Yoga students walk away from their first class feeling guilty, that it took so long to start. They anguish over the fact they procrastinated so long. However, the important part is to start and continue your Yoga practice. There is also a common feeling of euphoria during and after Yoga classes. The group support, classroom atmosphere, and the endorphins, will make your day a much better one.

What is Self Mastery? - Part 1
Self Mastery, alone, sounds like a selfish term; but if you cannot help yourself, you will have limited ability to help others. Self mastery is the ability to make the most out of your physical, mental, and spiritual health. In other words, to be the best you can be.
As a result of your efforts, you will be able to help everyone around you. In order for you to change the world around you, for the better, you have to change yourself for the better, along the way.
You cannot sit on a mountain top waiting for perfection before you help your fellow man. The time to help is now, and we must look at ourselves as works in progress. Appreciate yourself for who you are, what you are, and what you have accomplished so far.
Appreciate your friends, family, and associates for who they are. Accept them, as they are, without expecting perfection. This is a common mistake for parents to make with their children, but it also happens in a variety of relationships. So, let go of demands on others - especially unrealistic demands.
Where do we start learning the secrets of self mastery? If you accept things around you, without demand, you already have taken the first step. There are two important factors here.
1. Once you accept people, and situations, for what they are, you won?t waste time and energy with frustration. This causes inner frustration, emotional turmoil, worries, and depression.
2. Once you change yourself, through positive self mastery, the world around you will change for the better, without much effort on your part.
You will not be able to make all of the changes to mind, body, and spirit, at once, but they are connected.
The first large component is physical. Your body needs constant maintenance in a variety of methods: weight resistance, flexibility, and cardio-vascular strength, require you to cross train. So, if you have been on the couch too long, it is time to get off. This one physical change, of daily exercise, will help you in all aspects of life. You will feel better about yourself.
If you don?t have enough time for three types of exercise - practice at least one that will give you maximum benefits. Hatha Yoga, swimming, and martial arts are good recommendations, as each of them cross trains the body with fair variety.
In many Yoga classes, Sun Salutations are a series of postures - and the ultimate cross training exercise. Once you are familiar with them, you can practice at home. They require very little space and no equipment, although many Yoga practitioners do use a Yoga mat, or sticky mat, at home.
